However, things have not been very pleasant for both stars of the Indian team after Gautam Gambhir joined as the head coach. Ravi Shastri has never shied away from pointing out dirty collars. His blunt and honest approach is what Indian audiences and cricket fans love. Having said that, fans took this interview as a direct warning to the present management when Shastri called “some people” “trouble-makers.” He further made a stern statement that they should not mess with players like Virat and Rohit. Shastri addressing the media said that Virat and Rohit are Dada Players (ODI giants) and you do not mess around with players of that stature.
Longevity of Virat and Rohit
Prior to this series, there were several questions about the possibility of the ODI giants in the current Indian team, especially keeping eyes on the upcoming World Cup. However, Shastri straightforwardly kept both players above everyone. He suggested that these two are going to be key players without any doubt. Kohli’s consecutive centuries have also shut the loud noise around his longevity in the format.

Although, Ravi Shastri refrained from taking any names directly but fans linked his words a strong warning for the current management.
The present head coach Gautam Gambhir had also made a strong statement against Ravi Shastri about his achievements. Since then, the two have not been very friendly with each other. All these things are heating up the temperature during the end of the ODI calendar. There has been chatter around their longevity as the lack of match practice can disturb their form. However, both stars have shown their vintage form and Virat Kohli (Also know as King of cricket) has already charged up the environment with back to back centuries.
