After weeks of questions over his future, Virat Kohli answered in the most magical way- by gifting fans a vintage hundred in Ranchi. Just when conversations about his future grew louder, Kohli let his bat speak, turning concern into celebration with his 52nd ODI hundred.
It created a social media buzz when Virat Kohli visited MS Dhoni a couple of days back, and he has given another reason to fans to cherish. All eyes were on Virat and Rohit before the beginning of this series. There were debates going around their possibilities in the squad, especially in terms of the upcoming World Cup 2027. The stage was set and the senior duo delivered what they have been doing for years.
Although Rohit got out after a shining fifty, Kohli continued to do what fans expect from him always. In the 38th over, he guided Marco Jansen’s length ball towards third man and roared to celebrate his hundred. He ran and punched in the air and fans yelled in unison to cheer vintage Virat Kohli. Before this match, the management was a little dicey about his form and there were whispers that the management might look beyond Virat and Rohit for the ODI World Cup 2027. With this comeback knock Kohli has definitely put a halt in style to unnecessary debates.
In his innings he faced 120 balls to score 135 runs, hitting 11 fours and 7 sixes. It was not just a regular inning but a statement that King Kohli is still there. He formed this inning brick by brick, soaked pressure, and delivered what he is best at. Besides this, the Rohit-Virat partnership of 136 off 109 balls decorated the Sunday perfectly for ICT fans. However, post Rohit’s wicket, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar could not do much. India were definitely under pressure after quick wicket falls. This was the perfect stage for what Virat is known for, soaking the pressure and taking the team out of trouble. This charismatic performance helped the Indian team reach a handsome score of 349 in the end.
